I totally dig Steven Meisel's new Balenciaga campaign. It's a (surprisingly literal) homage to Judy Linn's early portraits of Patti Smith, which were recently compiled into an excellent book. Most people seem to think that these ads aren't aspirational enough but I totally prefer a disheveled, somewhat anemic looking andro chick to an overly-photoshopped Balenciaga android. And the interiors are so perfect.

who thinks it's not aspirational enough? fools! I love this campaign and agree re: androids.
I really love these also, I found myself staring at them for much longer than the usual 300 ads when going through the heaviest vogue of all time.
